Through "Almond Eyes," I invite viewers to consider the transformative power of perspective. "Almond Eyes" was inspired by an interaction at SFO. As I requested almond milk, the barista made an intended playful remark saying "you like almond milk because your eyes are shaped like almonds".

Drawing from this interaction, I felt compelled to create this piece but transform my initial feelings of discomfort and anger to ones of appreciation and reflection. By sharing my personal story, I aim to encourage viewers to reassess their own memories and experiences. I want to inspire a shift in perspective, urging individuals to reclaim ownership over their narratives and find empowerment in shaping their own interpretations.

In a world where external influences can shape our perceptions, it is crucial to recognize that we possess the ability to choose how we view and internalize our experiences. We have the capacity to reinterpret, reframe, and find the silver linings within our memories.

By incorporating elements such as resin almonds, symbolic of the playful association with almond milk, and preserved flowers collected from my adventures in life, I sought to infuse the artwork with personal mementos and individual experiences. The fusion of these elements in "Almond Eyes" serves as a visual representation of the interconnectedness of our shared experiences, embracing our memories, and personal identities

"Almond Eyes" invites viewers to contemplate their own memories and extend empathy to the past, I hope to stimulate viewers to explore their own experiences and find inspiration, resilience and growth in ourselves.

May this artwork serve as a reminder that we have the power to shape our own perspectives and find beauty, strength, and wisdom within our own unique journeys.
